Venture · in build

Pairflix.

Streaming is better together. Pairflix turns the nightly "what shall we watch?" argument into a 30-second decision -across Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and friends.

Web & AI UK households Alpha · pre-launch
The problem

Streaming made content abundant. It also made deciding miserable.

12+ min

Spent choosing each night

The average household burns over twelve minutes of screen time before anything actually starts playing.

2.5 hrs

Daily streaming time

UK adults stream for roughly two and a half hours a day -most of it on platforms designed for individual taste profiles.

High

Reported "what to watch" friction

Decision fatigue, abandoned sessions and low-grade household friction are the steady cost of choice paralysis.

The solution

A relationship-first recommendation layer.

Pairflix sits on top of the streaming subscriptions a household already pays for and recommends a single, agreed title -based on both partners' tastes, mood and the time they've actually got.

Pair profile

Two -or more -taste profiles joined into one shared recommender. The whole household, not just one viewer.

Mood & time inputs

"Thirty minutes, something funny" returns one match, not two hundred. The decision, not the catalogue.

Cross-platform

Works across Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and friends. One match, wherever it actually streams.

Watch-together history

Tracks what you've actually agreed on -not just what you started -and learns the household's real taste over time.

Competitive landscape

The only product designed around the household decision.

Where we are

Early alpha -pre-launch, no public users yet.

The platform stack is in place; the product hasn't opened to outside testers. No waitlist, no beta cohort, no public release date. We'll announce when the build clears its quality bar.

Three apps in build

Client (browse, watchlists, partner matching), Admin (user management, content moderation) and a Node/Express + Postgres backend -all in the same TypeScript monorepo on the studio platform.

Platform readiness

Multi-stage Docker builds, Nginx reverse proxy, TMDB integration, JWT auth, Swagger API docs. Production-deploy ready as infrastructure; the user-facing product is still in active development.

Next gate

Closed alpha with a small invited cohort once the matcher and partner-pairing UX are stable. The aspirational targets below describe the post-launch trajectory we're building toward.

Three-year projection (post-launch)

The trajectory we're building toward.

These are the targets in the seed plan, not current state. Year 1 starts at public launch, not today.
